What People Are Saying

I needed to try something new. I reached a point in my life that
I needed to change up my fitness regimen.   There are countless
reasons I enjoy EBC but the most beneficial for me is the motivation.
Since I’ve started EBC which is approaching on one year
I have never been so motivated. The biggest change since I’ve started
EBC has been my energy level.  After my workout I feel stress free
and energized, ready to take on what the day has to bring!
I leave EBC in the morning with a “Bring it” attitude.
I’ve been able to plan my day including my work out first thing in the
morning which is something I never thought I would be able to do.
Regardless of your current fitness and health background,
it is very hard to beat the health and fitness benefits of consistent
and regular boot camp workouts.  Once you’ve experience
the benefits you will never look back.  EBC is addictive!
You have nothing to lose but SO much to gain.
I will see YOU at Boot Camp!

Nya Jimson,
Boot Camp Enthusiast!

"Thought that Energy Boot Camp might be a short-term way to jump start the process.  More than two years later, I am still going back for more!  I feel healthier, I have more energy, I am stronger, faster and leaner.  I have dropped close to 40 lbs, countless inches, and 4 dress sizes.

EBC has also given me the confidence to try new things and participate in activities I could have never imagined.   I feel like my body is prepared for whatever challenge I throw at it.  I like the personalized attention that I receive in a small group setting.  I like meeting new people and working out with friends and familiar faces.

I grumble EVERY morning when my alarm clock goes off, but once I am there, I have a great time, a great work out, and burn a lot of calories - all before most people get out of bed.  I actually fit into a MEDIUM, a size that I have not seen since high school.  I have also kissed my Ex goodbye - my EXTRA LARGES!"

"Overall, though the biggest change for me has been "turning the corner", in terms of making fitness a part of my lifestyle.  In the past, working out, was always a means to an end - going to lose 20lbs, so work out and eat right for a few months drop the weight and then slack off.

In comparison to my exercise patterns/activities in the past,
Boot Camp has definitely made me stronger and given me more endurance.
So now, I can pick up different sports and participate in other activities
and my body is ready for it. I am able to keep up and even outperform
others on occasion! Now for me, weight loss is NOT the goal,
it is a pleasant side effect."

"I just wanted to say that this morning was a great workout.  I loved it! I really loved the combination of static and active exercises  and the fact that it was all new to me was awesome (apparently my attention span is short and I like new things!).  So thanks for changing it up a little for us. I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoy your classes. i love how you let everyone go at their own pace while both encouraging us to push ourselves to our own limits. I hated gym class as a kid, but you make this time fun. I often catch myself smiling. So, thanks for being such an encouraging and positive trainer.

One year ago, I had difficulty climbing the stairs at work (22 steps),
this is after each client (I have 10 to 12 clients a day).
It was difficult for me because I was overweight and in poor shape.

After joining Boot Camp with Mike, I can run up those same steps
and feel good, not out of breath.  I love the energy.
I will be 61 soon, and since being with Mike I feel that they made
a mistake on my birth certificate.  I am able to keep up with the
women in Boot Camp, who are much younger.

I owe it all to Mike, his terrific personality and his kickass workout
(never boring and push when you need pushing)
What you want to accomplish in your life will be hard work,
so why not make it fun, not a punishment.

It feels great to be outside.  Even when it is raining!  i am happy
you have the rain or shine policy so it doesn't give me
any excuses!  Normally if it's raining i wouldn't even bother to
walk to the gym even though it's just a 10 min walk, it's just an
easy excuse that i don't need.  i also feel that i can put more
of an effort into working out outside because it's fun, whereas
an hour class at the gym gets boring & i might end up leaving
half way through, or slacking.  i am not sure i will continue to
feel the same once the humidity hits though, but i might!
variety is good, i like trying new excercises & alternating the
muscles we work on each day.  i also like how you follow up
with everyone & pay attention to each individuals particular needs.
i actually feel like i have my own personal trainer as opposed to what i get from instructors at the gym classes.
i don't feel like i can ask them the same questions that i would ask you & wouldn't be comfortable with getting the correct answers from some of them.  i like how you monitor us all and try to make sure we are getting what we need & want.  i also like how you increase the intensity each week.  i am really enjoying it.

Mike, your boot camp is addictive! I never thought I could feel so good after exercising and see such great results in such a short period of time. It feels great to be at Boot Camp and have someone push you to your limits. After devoting all my time and energy to my two little guys at home, it feels really good to finally do something for myself. Your classes energize me, and you're a great motivator. Your firm, yet gentle, demeanor and teaching style are very refreshing. You really know how to push people to do their best, while at the same time respecting their boundaries and comfort level.  Thanks Mike... your bootcamp class is awesome (other women in our class also expressed the same sentiments) Looking forward to tomorrow’s class. Thanks Mike!

Amanda Doxtator's Story

Before I started Boot Camp with you, when I was playing baseball I could > barley run the bases.  Baseball has been a long time love of my life and when I moved away to the states, I did not know anyone, and was too shy to ask anyone how I could join a team.  Because my activity level dropped from baseball games almost everyday of the week to nothing at all, besides walking at the mall or grocery shopping.  8 years of no physical activity took it's toll on my 5 foot 1 body and gained a lot of weight, even more weight than I had when I was pregnant with my daughter.  When I moved back home with my family to have knee surgery to have my acl's reconstructed two years ago that was my life changing moment to get my life back and reconcile with my past love of baseball ;) lol

With work, school and my family I was still not doing what I loved the most, to be able to play baseball and teach my daughter how to play.  What helped to push me to stop making excuses why I couldn't play ball or even exercise was my father.  He has had Diabetes for over 25 years, on Dialysis for over 14 years, had quadruple bypass surgery, amputation of both his legs up to his knee's, and fingers on both hand, he had beaten colon cancer just two years ago with surgery and has survived a number of heart attacks.  He was known as the Energizer Bunny - he keeps going and going - goes into the hospital for a recharge, and then keeps going and going.

So with my father on my mind all the time and helping with taking care of him, I wanted to better myself and be able to live my life to be able to see my daughter grow up and to be apart of her life as much as I can.  So, one
hot summer day at base ball practice my cousin who I noticed wearing a Boot Camp shirt had told me about your Boot Camp class in Lambeth.  She had invited me out to the "Bring a friend" class on a saturday morning. Now this practice we were doing running drills and I could not even finish one drill :(
So I agreed to come with my cousin to the Boot Camp and boy that was my life changing moment then.  I was so sore but the results I knew would soon come with commitment and perseverance and a change in diet I can take my life back and play ball with out running out of breath just running to first base (ever embarrassing).

I have been doing Boot Camp now for over two months, I've gotten a lot stronger, slowing starting to lose the weight and now my clothes are starting to become loose, Yay :)  My ball game has picked up and I was able to help coach my daughter this summer with her ball team.  With my daughter we were trying to see who could hit a homerun first this year and my father said he would take out the player who hit the home run first for dinner.  My
daughter was not able to hit that homerun, she came close with a triple (she missed second base and had to run back to touch it and proceed to third).  A few weeks later, my father had passed away.  My daughter was able to tell my father all the play by plays of her ball games and he treated her to dinner after every ball game anyway.

I took four weeks off of playing base ball after my fathers death, and when I returned it was our league play offs.  And my first at bat, one runner was on second base, and then it happened, I hit my homerun!  Not only was the
ball I hit very well and far, but I ran the bases with very little effort and when I crossed the home plate, I was not out of breath at all and I was still able to out run the players throwing the ball in from the field! :)
That home run was for my Daddy :)  Later that game I hit a triple and and single, and the next game we played the next day, I hit another home run my first at bat but with no runners on.  I know my dad was there to see the
home runs and it gave me the confidence I needed to keep on with my Boot Camp classes.

So with that I am very grateful for my cousin who took me to "Bring a Friend" day and help me to take my life back. She has been my support in so many ways, I'm truly thankful for everything she has done for me and my
family.  And a big thank you to you Mike for all your support and push at the classes to help me to achieve my goals.  I'm still a ways off my target but I know I have it in me to continue with my changes and exercise program
that one day I will reach my goals.

Thank you so much Mike,
Amanda
